My Jesus
Born and raised in a Christian environment, Christianity meant nothing more than a set of do's and don'ts to me. All this changed in 1994 when I met Jesus all over again and discovered a brand new relationship with Him. Jesus became so real and alive to me like never before. Today, I am who I am because of Jesus and what He has done for me. Jesus is everything to me, but words just can't describe all that He is. Allow me to introduce my Jesus to you through the following four points:
- My Substitute: Look around and you will see a world dying because of the consequences of sin. Not surprising since the penalty of sin is death (Rom 6:23). I thank God that He provided a substitute to take my place. In His love, God sent forth His Son Jesus to die for me as the perfect sacrifice. Jesus died on my behalf and took away the penalty of sin required of me. I am set free!
- My Saviour: Jesus paid the full price with His blood and redeemed me from the clutches of sin. When I repented of my sins and believed in Jesus, He saved me and took me out of the mess in my life and gave me a new life of abundance (John 10:10b). In Him, I am a new creation (2 Cor 5:17). Old things have passed away; all things have become new! I have a new beginning!
- My Master: My life has purpose because of Jesus! That is why I love Him and I serve Him as my Lord, my Master and my King. Jesus leads and guides me every step of the way. I never have to worry because His plans for me are always good, with a future and a hope (Jer 29:11). As His servant and disciple, I know I will always be taken care of and provided for. I have a great Boss!
- My God:Jesus may have walked on earth as a man, but He is also truly and fully God. The Bible says that He was there with God right from the beginning (John 1:1). In fact, all of creation was made through Him and for Him (Col 1:16). Jesus came so that through Him, we can know God personally and intimately. Jesus said that if we know Him, we will also know God (John 14:7). After all, Jesus is the exact representation of God (Heb 1:3). I know a personal God!
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Eph 2:8,9
Dear friend, my greatest desire is for you to know Jesus as I have come to know Him. It's a decision you will never regret. You don't have to be perfect before you know Him. Even though we don't deserve anything, Jesus fulfilled everything for us because He knows we can never make it on our own. That's GRACE! Now, all you need to do is to believe in Him and all He has done for you. That's FAITH! It's that simple!
To receive God's gift of salvation, here's a prayer you can pray to Jesus by yourself
"Dear Jesus, I need You. I believe in You and all You have done for me. Be my Saviour and save me from my sins. Thank You for dying on the Cross for my sins, for forgiving me and giving me a new start. I choose to follow You and Your ways. Be my Lord and Master and lead me into the plans and purposes You have for me. Amen."
